Doing Nothing

After spending 2 weekends pumped up about my various craft projects, it was wonderful to 'do nothing' last weekend. I had no 'urge' to finish something. I felt like I was released from some spell!

Seriously, trying to make your creative business work is very difficult. I'm not even trying to make it big, but I'd like to at least try to achieve my own target.

I have set up a Facebook page, an Instagram and a Pinterest account which I update every time I make something new. IT IS TIRING. Not kidding here. It's something you have to incorporate in your weekly life. The successful ones do this EVERY single day. I follow their account, and there's a beautiful photo. Every single day. And these photos are not taken in a second. Everything you see is carefully considered about its aesthetics, the arrangement, the lighting, the angle, the props, the background, the focal point.
GAH! Everyday?

I have to admit, I don't take 100% effort in my photos. For me to do this weekly, is a sacrifice. It's like robbing my time from my family, and I couldn't accept that. After all, this is not my full time endeavour. My priority was still my young boys. So usually I take the easiest simplest look. Bare minimum background, on my white-painted woodboard, at the patio with good natural lighting on a bright day. That's all! That's my base, and I'll stick to it for now...

So last weekend, I had nothing update on my FB and Instagram account. And I'm actually happy about it, because I could make my boys do silly things.. haha!
